New Track Review:  “Words I Never Said” -Lupe Fiasco featuring Skylar Grey

Lupe’s back with his new song “Words I Never Said”, the second single from his highly-anticipated new album “Lasers”.  Joining him on the record is hip-hop’s new go-to girl for killer hooks, Skylar Grey. (Diddy’s Coming Home, Dr. Dre’s I Need A Doctor, Fort Minor’s Where’d You Go)  This track is fire, but is lending itself a little too heavily on the Love The Way You Lie (which Grey coincidentally co-wrote with Eminem) copycatting that is finding itself all over mainstream hip hop. Don’t believe me?  Just give a quick listen to Diddy’s Coming Home and T.I.’s Caste Walls with Christina Aguilera.  Lupe stamps the song with his signature honest lyrics and flow, and even though I really like the track, it’s missing that little spark that could catapult it into the untouchable status.

“Price Tag” -Jessie J (featuring B.o.B.)

This girl is the future of pop music.  I guarantee you.  Mark my words.

“Cinema (Skrillex Remix)”- Benny Benassi

Takes you on a crazy, musical mindfuck.  Watch out for the nasty dubstep breakdown in the middle.

“Part Time Lover” -Stevie Wonder

It’s a Stevie Wonder-kinda-day today… but then again, everyday is a Stevie Wonder-kinda-day.
